Charlotte Edna Goblet Hindman, 95, widow of Charles Huggins Hindman, of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at her home. The funeral Service for Charlotte Hindman will be on Thursday, December 30, 2010 in First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant at eleven o'clock. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 o'clock. There will be an Eastern Star Memorial Service at 6:30 pm during the visitation.
Charlotte Edna Goblet was born on April 9, 1915 in Charleston, SC. She and her late husband, Charles Huggins Hindman, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 27, 2010. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant Academy, Memminger High School and the College of Charleston in 1939 where she earned degrees in Latin and Greek. She was a retired school teacher from Mamie P. Whitesides where she taught the 3rd grade for 23 years. She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and a past Worthy Matron of the Alhambra Chapter of the Eastern Star. She has been a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church since 1930. Surviving her are Charles Huggins Hindman Jr. and Susan Stith Hindman, Charlotte Susan Hindman and Ken Floyd, Heyward Joseph Hindman and Ann Cullen Hindman, Alphonse Hudson Hindman and Barbara Bennett Hindman, Janie Hindman Yeargin and Robert Lynn Yeargin and George Lea Hindman and Lisa Coggin Hindman. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Oliver and Beth Banks, Annie and David Camp, Cloe and Chad Pepples, Ben and Laura Hindman, Charlie and Alissa Yeargin, Gray Yeargin, Will Yeargin, William Hindman and Simms Hindman and 3 great grandchildren, Grasyn Charlotte Peeples, Charles Oliver Banks and Hudson Parker Hindman. She was preceded in death by her mother Anne Jebeau Hudson Goblet, her father George Frederick Goblet, two sisters, Georgeanna Grasher Goblet Rogers and Margaret Sawyer Goblet Myers, one brother, George Frederick Goblet Jr. and one half-brother, George Roland Goblet.
