Charlie Benjamin Norris
January 27, 1954 — March 14, 2016
C. Benjamin Norris, 62, of North Charleston, SC, left this world for a better one on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 after a short illness. His graveside service will be held Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue at 12:00 pm. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., North Area Chapel.
Ben was born January 27, 1954 in Charleston, SC, son of Charlie Buford Norris and Narnie Rush Norris. Ben retired from the North Charleston Fire Department as a fire investigator. After retirement he established the fire investigation of consulting firm known as the Forensic Fire Analysis, LLC. He taught at the Fire Academy, ATF and many other areas. Ben was one of the first of three fire investigators in South Carolina to be certified by the International Association of Arson Investigators. He was a member of the Charleston SC H.O.G. Chapter 4774 Low Country Harley Davidson and was their official photographer. Ben was also an American Civil War History buff.
He leaves to cherish fond memories his "adopted" parents Glenn and Charlotte Gillespie of Spartanburg, SC and a sister Patsy (Johnnie) Evans of Virginia.
