Charlie "Doc" Johnson, 85, of Charleston, SC, widower of Joby J. Johnson, entered into eternal rest Friday, July 10, 2015. His funeral service will be held Monday, July 13, 2015, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, at 10:00 a.m. Entombment with military honors, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Doc was born November 12, 1929 in Conway, South Carolina, son of the late Charlie Johnson and the late Annie Johnson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War and a retired security systems installer for Washington Technological Associates. Doc married the love of his life, Joby, on October 3, 1953. They were married for 52 years and raised their six children together.

He is survived by six children: Terri Grooms (Ronnie) of Goose Creek, SC, Alice Jenkins (Clyde) of North Charleston, SC; Tim Johnson (Judy) of Cottageville, SC, Debbie Button (Robert) of Ladson, SC, William "Billy" C. Johnson (Ridgely) of Summerville, SC and Bobby Johnson (Judy) of Goose Creek, SC; sister, Sue Cornelson of Mississippi; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
