Dr. Charles Prince Youmans, 78, of Johns Island, South Carolina and Banner Elk, North Carolina, husband of Linda McClary Youmans passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 11, 2014 in the St. John's Parish Church, 3673 Maybank Highway. Interment will follow in St. John's Parish Churchyard. Charles was born January 11, 1936 in Baxley, Georgia, son of the late John Edwards Youmans and Jennie Milton Youmans. He was a graduate of East Carolina University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of St. John's Parish Church. Dr. Youmans was Past President of the Charleston Dental Society and Past President of the Southern Academy of Clinical Nutritionists. He practiced orthodontics in Charleston and Walterboro, SC for 47 years.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda McClary Youmans of Johns Island, SC; his daughter, Terry Cotton of Charleston, SC; his son, Charles P. Youmans, Jr. of Charleston, SC; his step-daughter, Susan Morris and her husband, Thomas of Johns Island, SC; and his brother, Dr. Julian R. Youmans of El Macero, CA. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mona Lane Youmans and his four brothers.
