Entered into eternal rest on the morning of March 11, 2012, TSgt, Charles Henry Tangemann, Jr., United States Air Force (Retired), husband of Grace Hiott Tangemann. Residence, North Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tangemann, Jr. are invited to attend his funeral service Friday, March 16, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in J. Henry Stuhr West Ashley Chapel. Committal will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m with military honors. The family will receive friends Thursday at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Tangemann was born April 20, 1925 in Linden, New Jersey, a son of the late Charles Henry Tangemann, Sr. and Lillian Waldron Tangemann. He was a retired United States Air Force veteran and served his country during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. He was a member of the B.P.O.E, VFW and was a Mason.
Surviving are his wife Grace Tangemann of North Charleston; two sons, Chris Tangemann of Charleston and Charlie Tangemann of Wyoming; two stepdaughters, Marie Munro and Penny Schaffer both of Charleston; and a brother, William Tangemann of California. Mr. Tangemann is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be sent to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605-4277.
