Charles Walter Spriggs

Charles Walter Spriggs, 77, died peacefully at home on July 26, 2024 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. His Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Charles was born October 3, 1946 in Welch, West Virginia, son of the late Phillip Louis Kenneth Spriggs and Virginia Creed Spriggs. He loved his career in the United States Air Force and retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1993. He enjoyed family gatherings, the outdoors, traveling, kayaking, golfing, snow skiing, reading books, his morning coffee, and being a father. He loved the world and was amazed at the miracle of life. He was a good friend to many people.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth Stuart Spriggs; brother, Donald Spriggs (Gale); three sisters, Eleanor Addy (Edward), Carol Williams (Richard), Betsy Pridgen (Blaney); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon Wendt Spriggs; son, Benjamin R. Spriggs; brother, Tommy W. Spriggs.
