Charles "Chuck" Benton Sigman

Charles “Chuck” Benton Sigman, 75, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Elizabeth “Lisa”  Booth Thelning Sigman entered into eternal rest Monday, May 8, 2023. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 18, 2023, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd. at 2:00 pm. Interment, will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Rd. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.  

 

Chuck was born December 9, 1947, in Miami, Florida, son of Euford G. Sigman and Mary Anderson Sigman. After serving in the Coast Guard  Reserves for several years he finally settled down in Charleston where he met the love of his life. He had a passion for fishing and made a career out of it for over 50 years.  Therefore, he often said he never  “worked” a day in his life. Chuck owned Sigman Seafood and operated out of Shem Creek at Wando Shrimp Co. He also enjoyed traveling with his family. Chuck  will be remembered for his strength, resilience, and unwavering loyalty to his family, as well as his career.

 

He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Lisa; daughter, Kristin S. McDuffie (Steven F.); and his two grandchildren who lit up his world. Harper who was his sweetheart and Tripp who was his bestest buddy. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ryan Sigman.

 

The family would also like to thank Chuck’s hospice nurse Jennifer and his oncologist of 8.5 years Dr. Keogh for everything they did for him and his family.
