Charlie Pryor died peacefully at home with his wife Elizabeth "Bette" Pryor and family by his side on the evening of May 27, 2012. The relatives and friends of Charlie and Bette are invited to attend the funeral services of the former at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
Charlie Pryor was born July 12, 1927 in Dover, Georgia, the son of Richard Franklin Pryor and Emma Elizabeth Mincey. He served in the United States Coast Guard aboard the Cutter Amaranth at The Rock of Ages Lighthouse in Lake Superior. He was a graduate of Georgia Southern University. Charlie Pryor was a true southern gentleman, a kind and loving man, well known for his wry sense of humor. He was an entrepreneur of the highest order, respected and sought after for his business knowledge and expertise. He was responsible for the business success of many people and helped numerous others through his generosity.
He is survived by his wife of Johns Island, SC; his beloved grandson of the home, Charles Douan; daughter Charmagne Pryor; son Cary Pryor; and special daughter-in-law, Katherine Pryor, special family members Shirley Lutz, Thomas Fearing, Kris Bradford; two granddaughters: Taelor Pryor and Caroline Perry, and extended family members in Sylvania, GA.
