Charles Hoyt Mills, III, 58, raised in Charleston, South Carolina, Husband of Jennifer Lee Mills entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 19, 2023. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 23, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 24 ,2023 in the John Wesley United Methodist Church at 11:00 am.
Charles was born June 17, 1964, in Atlanta, Georgia; son of Charles Hoyt, Jr. and Martha Hills Chandler. Charles, also known as PopPop, was a simple man. He loved his Family, Friends, and Georgia Football. One of his favorite things in the world was having everyone over to enjoy what he called his "Happy Place," which was his backyard where he built an outdoor kitchen and pool. This is where his love and humor shined the most. Outside of family, Charles worked in Sales, where he was successful for 25 years. However, his biggest accomplishment was the family he built and the love he showed them every day.
In addition to his wife Jenny, Charles is survived by his children: Chase Mills ( Emma), Alli Rhyne (James), and Logan Mills (Archie); grandchildren: Rowan and Maddox Mills, and Anna Lee Rhyne; and sisters: Elizabeth Kurek and Gracie Martin. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by Robert E. Lee (Poppie) and Geneva Mae Holland Mills.
Memorial donations can be made in Charles' memory to American Cancer Society and/or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
