Reverend Charles Judson Martin, 76, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Carole McDaniel Martin entered into eternal rest Friday, November 23, 2012. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2012, in Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Hwy., at 2:00 pm. Reverend Ron Shearer and Reverend Al Smith will be officiating. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.

Rev. Martin was born November 9, 1936 in Blackville, SC, a son of the late Nicholas Valentine Martin, Sr. and the late Ulela Osborne Martin. He was a retired Baptist minister, a graduate of Furman University and the Southern Theological Baptist Seminary in Louisville, KY. He served churches in Indiana and South Carolina and the following churches in the Charleston area: Ashley River Baptist Church, Rutledge Avenue Baptist Church, Rutledge Memorial Baptist Church and Harbor Light Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carole, of Charleston; daughter, Camille Martin Maull (Bernie) of James Island; two sons, Charles Judson "Chip" Martin III (Jennifer) of James Island and Christopher McDaniel Martin (Jan) of Lafayette, LA; grandchildren, Jacob DeGrace, Jordan, Cale and Carter Martin, Blake and Brittany Maull, Madison Knox, Leighanne and Ty Martin; two brothers, Nicholas Valentine Martin Jr. (Nancy) of Aiken, SC and James Osborne Martin of North Augusta, SC. He was predeceased by a daughter, Cynthia Martin Holcombe.
