Charles Banks Luce, 96, of Charleston, South Carolina, widower of Roberta Hobson Luce, called into the Lord's presence Sunday, November 3, 2013.
His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 in Church Creek Presbyterian Church at 2:00 p.m. Interment, Palo Alto, CA. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.
Charlie was born December 17, 1916 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Arthur Taylor Luce and Eulalie Banks Luce. He was an Eagle Scout and a Graduate of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University, Lafayette, IN. Charlie was President of Pi Kappa Alpha, an Elder of First Presbyterian Church, Schenectady, NY, Peninsula Bible Church, Palo Alto, CA and a member of Church Creek Presbyterian Church, Charleston, SC. Charlie was a member of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and sat on the Board of Directors of Christian Camp Pinnacle. Charles was a retired Electrical Engineer with General Electric. Charlie shared his joy of life and hope in the Lord at Bishop Gadsden for 13 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Joan L. Bodden, (David), Charlotte NC; four grandchildren, Jay Kinghorn, Randy Kinghorn, Christine B. Dryfuss and Juliette B. Lane and three great grandchildren. Charlie is predeceased by his daughter, Nancy C. Kinghorn.
