Charles Travis Jackson, Sr., 76, of James Island, SC, husband of Millie Cullison Jackson entered into eternal rest Friday, March 10, 2017. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2017, in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Haselden Cemetery, Sellers, SC, at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends in the chapel Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Charles was born August 21, 1940 in Dillon, SC, son of the late Lacy Jackson and Mary Maude Jackson. He retired from Coburg Dairy. Charles was well known as "The Milkman" throughout James Island for 47 years.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Frankie Haselden Jackson; and survived by his daughter, Abby J. Wilkins (Stan) of Charleston; two sons: C. Travis Jackson, Jr., and Frank James Jackson, both of Charleston; twelve grandchildren; two nieces that he raised: Roxanne Reese, and Sharon Boan (Dan); his wife, Millie; three step-children: Dan B. Howell of Summerville, John W. Howell (Jean), and Sherry Siskind, both of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings: Nellie Bryant, Louise Harrelson, Beatrice Smoak, and James Jackson.
