Charles Dana Hopersberger

March 7, 1951 — February 6, 2012

Entered into eternal rest Monday, February 6, 2012, Charles Dana (CHAZ) Hopersberger, 60, of Charleston, South Carolina. A Gathering of Friends will be held at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 12 pm until 2 pm. Burial will be at a later date in Beaufort National Cemetery.

Born March 7, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan, Charles was the son of the late Charles J. Hopersberger and Theo M. (Hanna) Hopersberger. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a chef in catering and fine dining. He loved to cook, hunt, ride his harley, and play hard. He was always moving fast and he lived his life to the fullest. Sad that yet he left us so soon.

Survivors include 3 brothers: Mark F. Hopersberger of Douglasville, GA, Paul D. Hopersberger of Charleston and William S. Hopersberger of Trenton, Michigan; 7 nieces and nephews - Scott, Julie, Brian, James, Will Jr., Kate, and Matthew. He had a special place in his heart for his friend and mentor, Chris Carl, his everlasting buddy (extended family) Charlie, Jess Giordano, Maiah and Sophia Giordano.

Chaz left many friends behind in Detroit MI, Northeastern PA, New York and South Carolina... but he believed that "friends are the most important ingredient in this recipe of life."
