Charles Wilson "CW" Herndon

Charles W. Herndon, 62, of Huger, South Carolina, died Friday, November 16, 2018. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel Tuesday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.

C.W. was born July 18, 1956 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Robert Herndon and Evelyn Faye White Herndon. He was a carpenter and served on the Cainhoy Volunteer Fire Department. He was also worked as a pipefitter at Detyens Shipyard. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his brother Franklin Herndon (Trina) of Huger, SC; his sister, Christine Gaskins of Charlotte, NC; four sons, Christopher Garten (fiancée Molly) of Huger, SC, George Herndon of Missouri, Richard Herndon of Missouri, and Carl Herndon of Charleston, SC; his daughter, Jennifer Herndon of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren, Kylie Herndon, Amanda Herndon, Carolina Manahan, Ariana Markham, Joshua Herndon, and Gunner Garten; and many nieces and nephews, including Hunter Herndon. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lieral Grainger and Barbara Herndon, and his brother, Carl Herndon.
