Charles William Heinsohn

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of, November 25, 2011, Charles W. Heinsohn, husband of Betty Ann Mizell Heinsohn. Residence, Charleston, South Carolina. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heinsohn are invited to attend his funeral service at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 1, 2011 at St. Johannes Lutheran Church, SC. Interment Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, Wednesday between 5:00 and 7:00 PM.

Charles was born on April 15, 1937 to Ernest W. Heinsohn and Louise Sander Heinsohn. He was a 1955 graduate of North Charleston High School and a 1959 graduate of The Citadel. After graduation he served in the United States Army. He retired from the US Army Reserves as a Lt. Colonel. Charles retired from MeadWestvaco after 43 years as a Lab Superintendent and a Customer Service Representative. He was a member of the Citadel Brigadier Foundation. He was a life long member of St. Johannes Lutheran Church where he served as treasurer for over 40 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 52 years, is his daughter, Kathryn H. Allison and her husband Stan of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two sons, Ernest F. Heinsohn of Hollywood, SC and Charles S. Heinsohn and his wife, Kathryn of Meggett, SC; four grandchildren, Kate, Leigh, Dylan and Megan; a sister, Joyce H. Hunder and her husband, Dick of Concord, OH, and an extended family with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Jean Heinsohn.
