Charles "Snooze" Vassar Driggers, 82, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of Nancy Peeples Driggers entered into eternal rest Friday, June 26, 2015. His Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2015, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 3:00 P.M. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Chapel from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Charles was born January 10, 1933 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Allen Capers Driggers and Estelle Carter Driggers. He was a graduate of Charleston High where he played for the Charleston High Bantams. He served in the USMC reserves, US Army and retired as a Planner from Shop 17 at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, after thirty two years of service. Snooze was a die hard Clemson fan!
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy P. Driggers of Johns Island, SC; three daughters, Sherron D. Inabinett (Michael) of Yulee, FL, Joanie Driggers (David Crosby) of Charleston, SC, and Mary Lou Culpepper (J.C.) of Hollywood, SC; sister, Charlene Bunch (Karl) of Charleston, SC; two grandchildren, Lauren D. Kizer (Kris) of Reevesville, SC, and Will Culpepper of Hollywood, SC; one great-grandson, Keegan Michael Kizer; and many nieces and nephews that he loved.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 4975 Lacross Road, Suite 200, North Charleston, SC 29406 and/or a charity of one's choice in his memory.
