IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles "Chuck" R.
Weir
September 2, 1944 – January 30, 2026
Charles (Chuck) R. Weir, 81, of Summerville, SC, beloved husband of Joanne Bilodeau, passed away at home on January 30, 2026. He had been in home-hospice care for cancer and was grateful for the opportunity to spend quality time with his loved ones.
Born into an ever-relocating Air Force family to Col. Gerald Weir and Norma Bolenbaugh of Carlisle, Indiana, Chuck was accustomed to moving and lived in 10 different US states as well as Germany and Spain before settling in Charleston, SC.
While a successful businessman in various executive positions, Chuck was foremost devoted to his family and enjoyed many friendships, especially on the golf course! Additionally, he found many ways to support causes close to his heart such as veterans, special Olympics, and children including serving many years as a Guardian Ad Litnem for at-risk children.
Many will certainly miss his ready humor, smiling face, kindness and blue eyes. We like to think he's enjoying some well-deserved golf with his dad and mom and is telling them about his hole-in-one in Dec 2024! Chuck was a rare person who lived a good life, loved easily and was easy to love in return.
Chuck is survived by his wife Joanne Bilodeau of Summerville, SC; son Ben Weir and his wife Dannielle and grandsons Jackson and Parker of Portland OR; son Gerry Weir of Summerville, SC; stepson Stephen Hardy and his wife Aimee Shattuck and children Lucian and Nora of Portland, OR; sister Paula Thrower of Charleston, SC and her son Keith and wife Melanie and children Kate Patrick, Harlan, Kellen and Hampton of Newberry, SC; brother James (Jim) and his wife Diane of Maple Grove, MN and their daughter Stephanie of Cushing, MN; sister Sharon Marchewka and her husband Pete of Mt. Pleasant, SC and their son Christopher of New Orleans, LA and son Matthew and wife Angel of Williamsburg, VA; stepson Matthew Bilodeau and wife Jenny and their child Sasha of Lomita, CA. He is also remembered fondly by his aunt Nancy Lowry and her husband Eric and cousins David Tennis and his wife Trisha and children Morgan and Zack of Indianapolis, IN and Jenny Wolcott and her husband Mike and children Nicole and Allison of Indianapolis, IN.
