IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Lee
Christie, Sr.
September 15, 1950 – February 20, 2026
Chuck grew up in Greenville, SC, raised his children in Fayetteville, NC and spent his most recent years just outside Charleston in Hanahan, SC. He was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of Haymount United Methodist Church. He was a lover of music and if you knew him from Fayetteville, chances are your paths crossed at Paradise Records & Tapes of which he operated for over 20 years. Chuck was an avid golfer and up until his last days was still chasing the elusive golf swing. More than anything, he loved his family especially his grandchildren and they loved their “Papa.” Not too long ago he said “They say we love our grandchildren more than our kids. Untrue. Watching them is like watching y’all all over again.”
Chuck is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Jean Stone Christie; his children, Charles Lee Christie Jr. (Lauren), Sarah Christie Crane (Steve) and Erin Christie Stoner (Chris); brother, Ronny Christie (Barbara); sister, Carol Linton (Pat); sister, Jan Warner (Steve). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Lily, George, Sadie, London, Charlie and Willow as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Robert Ronxley Christie Jr. and Edna Josephine Robinson Christie.
The family will be holding a small private gathering. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choosing.
