Charles X. Cagnina

Charles X. Cagnina, age 89, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of the late Margaret Cagnina, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 17, 2024. Born on March 4, 1935, in Woburn Massachusetts, Charles was the beloved son of the late Charles Cagnina and the late Anette Harrigan Cagnina.

Charles dedicated over 30 years of his professional life to General Motors in Massachusetts before retiring to Florida in 2005. Following the passing of his cherished wife, Margaret, he made the significant decision to relocate to South Carolina in 2014 to be closer to his family.

A devoted New England sports fan, Charles found joy in coaching Little League baseball for many years in Brockton, Massachusetts, embodying the spirit of community and connection with those he taught and mentored. However, it is his deep love for family that will be most fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Alice Cagnina (Carol Sherman) of Mount Pleasant, SC; his son, John Cagnina (Zorana) of Warner Robins, GA; and his granddaughter, Madeline Cagnina. Charles was preceded in death by his late wife, Margaret, his son, Charles J. Cagnina and sister, Annette Dobbins.

In remembrance of his life and contributions, a memorial service will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the Rodenberg Chapel located in Franke at Seaside, 1885 Rifle Range Rd, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464, starting at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will follow on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Rd., Mount Pleasant, SC, at 12:00 noon.
