Charles was born June 7, 1942 in Jackson County, Florida, son of Charles Lafayette Beauchamp and Bernneice Martin Beauchamp. He was an infantry Captain in the United States Army. In Vietnam, he pioneered work on a DOD material and equipment distribution system to solve a major issue with re-supplying the troops. This work was a precursor to a DOD wide system that was a forerunner of major distribution management programs currently operated by companies such as FedEx and UPS. In Korea, he was in charge of a mechanized unit on the DMZ. He later worked in the commercial construction industry as a General Contractor, construction quality manager and worked with Total Quality Management implementation. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Standard Oil Company, Inc.Most of all, Charles was a man of honesty and integrity. He was active in Christian ministry from his youth. His passion was facilitating small group Bible studies. He sang with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra chorus, church choirs, played trumpet, and is probably on a heavenly golf course now. He is a member of St. Michael's Anglican Church.
Memorials may be made to St. Michael's Pastoral Care Counseling Ministry, 71 Broad Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
