Charles "Charlie" Henry Barrineau III, 79, of Charleston, SC, husband of Irene Thompson Barrineau, entered eternal rest on Monday, January 11, 2021. A private service will be held at the graveside in the Carolina Memorial Park. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.
Charlie was born March 8, 1941 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Charles Henry Barrineau, Jr. and the late Virginia B. Barrineau. After graduating from North Charleston High School, he attended Clemson College and proudly served in the National Guard. He retired after a 30-year career as a manager from Bellsouth on St. Philip Street. When working as a lifeguard in high school at Danny Jones Pool in North Charleston, Charlie met his wife Irene. Charlie and Irene enjoyed their free time and retirement years jet skiing at their home on Lake Moultrie.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Susan Alexander of Charleston, S.C. (David) and Christine Inabinett of Charleston, S.C. (Ron); grandchildren Carter (CJ), Katie, Audrey, and Maria; sister Kay Simms (Carl Jr., deceased) of Acworth, GA; and several nieces, nephews, along with other family members and friends.
