Charles William Alberts, 88, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of Evelyn K. Alberts, entered into eternal rest Monday, September 22, 2025. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 26, 2025, at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends Friday, one hour prior to the service.

Charles was born April 16, 1937, in Walterboro, South Carolina. He served in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis; he retired from Allen & Webb in 2005 after 50 years of service; he was a Past-Master of Fidelity 304 Masonic Lodge. He was a founding member of St. John’s Fire Department, where he served as Assistant Chief, and was the president of Jenkins Hunting Club for over 30 years.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn; his son, Frank Alberts (Trudi) of Atlanta; his son, Michael Alberts (Sandy) of Cottageville; his granddaughter, Jessica Nettles (Jeremy) of Cottageville; his grandson, Ethan Alberts (Becca) of Cottageville; his grandson, Mason Alberts (Leigh-Ann) of Cottageville; and his great-grandchildren, Annalee, Maddie, Weston, Abby, Avery, and Nickson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Wallace Tumbleston.

The family would like to say thank you to Veterans Victory House of Walterboro for their love, care and honor.
