Charlene Stroble Godbee

Charlene Stroble Godbee, 84, of Ravenel, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Saturday, August 9, 2025. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 in Hopewell Baptist Church, 6869 Parkers Ferry Road at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.

Charlene was born July 7, 1941 in Memphis, Tennessee, daughter of the late Charles Franklin Taylor and Martha Louise Smith Carter. She worked for the Walterboro dress factory for 20 years, Boars Head, and the North Charleston Coliseum for 20 years. She retired after working 27 years at Piggly Wiggly #8 Quadrangle. Charlene was a member of Carolina Chapter No. 25, order of the Eastern Star and past Matron of Chapter in Kingstree, SC. She was also a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Adams Run, SC.

She is survived by her children: Renae Sistare (the late Mike) of Ravenel, SC, Curtis Stroble (Kim) of Parkers Ferry, and Rick Stroble (Lynn) of Hendersonville, SC; grandchildren: Holly Chesser, Ashley McMullan, Courtney Smoak (Jamie), Lance Stroble (Blakely), John Curtis Stroble (Jessica), Taylor Christopher, Caleb Stroble (Casey), Josh Bell, and Melanie Jarrell (Cliff); great-grandchildren: Grace Chesser, Hunter Chesser, Coy Chesser, Mason McMullan, Gray McMullan, Hartley Smoak, Bennett Smoak, Fowler Smoak, Braxton Stroble, Colton Stroble, Willow Stroble, Levi Stroble, Owen Stroble, Rhett Stroble, Cayson Stroble, Amelia Jarrell, Kylie Bell, and Naomie Bell; siblings: Frankie Taylor of Leesburg, GA and Sandra Yeager of Wiggins, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Kimberly Christopher, and siblings: Manuel "Mickey" Davis, Jackie Davis, and Robert Allen Davis.
