Charleen Cheatham Morris, 68, of Tuscaloosa, AL, wife of William A. Morris, died Friday, January 27, 2017, at Northport Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy., at 2:00 p.m. Good friend, Pastor Emmett Browder will officiate. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel.
Charleen was born August 20, 1948 in Greenville, SC, daughter of the late Charles Eugene Cheatham, Jr. and Milladeen Sisk Cheatham. She was a graduate of James Island High School and Palmer Junior College in Charleston. Her generous heart, infectious laugh and boundless energy will be greatly missed. Charleen had many interests and hobbies but her favorite was time spent with her granddaughter. Her life was enriched by her church family at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, her family and her friends.
Charleen was an avid Auburn Tiger Fan who loved her VW convertible "bug" and spending time by the ocean. She was a proud 19 year survivor of breast cancer and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her husband; her daughter, Gwendolyn M. Norton (Michael) of Tampa, FL; her son, William C. Morris (Shannon) of Northport, AL; her granddaughter, Savannah Leigh Morris of Northport, AL; three sisters: Meredith C. Miller (Sammy) of Summerville, SC, Margaret H. Cheatham of Charleston, SC, and Melinda C. Bolchoz of Charleston, SC; brother, Charles E. Cheatham III (Gina) of Charleston, SC; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
