Cecile Doughty Rasmussen, 96, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Louis Charles Rasmussen Sr., entered eternal rest Friday, April 14, 2023. Her mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2023, in Sts. Frederick and Stephen Catholic Church, 544 SC-174, Edisto Island, SC 29438.  

She was the loving mother of Louis Charles Rasmussen (Gini), Kurt LeGarde, Jan Cecile and Lisa Ann Rasmussen, loving grandmother of Erin, Brian (Jackie), Anne, Dana Rasmussen, Louis LeGarde Smith and Aiden Ellis. Loving great grandmother of Elliot, Isla, Hazel Rasmussen and Luca Rasmussen-Shah and loving Aunt of Giselle (John) Morris and Deborah (Jim) Madebach.

1 Corinthians 13:1-8

Love is patient; love is kind. Love is not jealous; it does not put on airs; it is not snobbish. Love is never rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not prone to anger; neither does it brood over injuries. Love does not rejoice in what is wrong but rejoices with the truth. There is no limit to love’s forbearance, to its trust, its hope, its power to endure.
