Cecile Glenn Jenkin

July 9, 1952 — November 5, 2010

Reverend Cecile "Cec" Glenn Jenkin, Jr., husband of Sharon Lynn Keenan Jenkin of Ladson, SC died unexpectedly Friday, November 5, 2010.  The relatives and friends of Rev. and Mrs. Cec Jenkin are invited to attend his funeral services at Mountain View United Methodist Church, Taylors, SC. The service will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 2:00P.M.  Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the church between 12:00 P.M. and 2:00 P.M.


Rev. Jenkin was born July 9, 1952, in Clinton, Iowa, one of three children of the late Cecile Jenkin, and Julia Richardson Jenkin.  He was an Eagle Scout and served in the U.S.A.F.  Prior to entering the ministry he worked in the aviation field. He loved music, the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.  Rev. Jenkin led groups to Israel, performed mission work in Costa Rica and served with the Walk to Emmaus Community. He received his Masters Degree from Emory University.  He was currently serving as minister for the Bethel-Oswego United Methodist Church in Oswego, SC.   In his twenty years as a minister Rev. Jenkin served many churches across the South Carolina United Methodist Conference.


 He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sheri, two sons, Aaron Jenkin of Tokyo, Japan and Paul Jenkin of Port Royal, SC; his mother, Julia Jenkin, of Westminster, CA; sister, Julie Gold (Steve) of Westminster, CA; and a brother, Cedric Jenkin (Micky) of Terrebonne, OR.
