Cecil G. Taylor, Jr.

CWO3 Cecil G. Taylor, Jr., US Navy (Ret.), 72, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, husband of Connie Hamlett Taylor, entered into eternal rest Monday, December 19, 2022. His memorial service with Military Honors will be held Monday, January 2, 2023, at 5:00pm, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston.  The family will receive friends from 4:00pm until the time of service.  Interment will follow at Beaufort National Cemetery at a later date.  Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.

Cecil was born September 2, 1950 in North Platte, Nebraska, son of the late Cecil Glen Taylor and Mildred Miller Taylor.  He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy, until his retirement after 27 years.  He was active during both the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm.  He was a Sonar Technician within the Submarine Service, and a member of the VFW.  After his retirement, Cecil loved to go camping in the RV with family and explore the great outdoors.  He was a lover of Pugs and rescued many dogs from a poor life.  Cecil was an excellent cook and always took care of the "therapeutic" grocery store runs. He lived life to the fullest and loved fiercely, and will be missed by his family and friends.

Cecil is survived by his loving wife of 44 years; one son, Cecil Glen Taylor, III and his wife, Lynn; three daughters, Sarah Joy Red and her husband, Rob, Stephanie Jeanne Taylor and Shaina Joelle Mims and her husband, Adam; three grandchildren, Jacob and Clint Gunter, and Jessalyn Bazzle and her husband, John; one great-granddaughter, Malaya Bazzle; one sister, Dorothy Rinderle and one brother, Douglas Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
