CDR. Raymond Ray Seabaugh, (US Navy, Ret.) was born on September 10, 1923 in Sedgewickville, Missouri. He passed away on October 6, 2015 at Franke at Seaside in the Lutheran Hospice Center.
He is survived by three children, Quana S. Strong (Bill) of Florida, Lara S. Northcutt (Charlie) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and COL. Karl R. Seabaugh (US Army, Ret.) (Pa) of Daniel Island, SC; four grandchildren, William Strong, III, Jennifer Strong, Diana Strong Robinson (David), Vincent C. Northcutt (Mary Frances) and Frances Northcutt; three great grandchildren, Preston Robinson, Callie Robinson and Hampton Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Doris E. Seabaugh and a brother Troy Eugene Seabaugh.
Raymond graduated from Missouri University at Rolla and was then commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy. He rose to the rank of Commander and was captain of the USS Whetstone, (LSD 27). He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Raymond was proud of his service to his country. After retiring from the military, Raymond had a second career in banking. He worked for C&S Bank, becoming the branch manager in Mount Pleasant, SC.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 in Rodenberg Chapel (Franke at Seaside), 1600 Franke Drive, Mount Pleasant at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Franke at Seaside, 1885 Rifle Range Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 or charity of one's choice.
