Catherine Harriet Hesse White, from Manning, SC, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 at the age of 75.
Born September 25, 1942 in Charleston, SC to Ernest Christopher Hesse Jr. and Opal Eunice Kelly, she spent her childhood in Charleston and attended Ashley Hall. After school, she married her Citadel sweetheart Hallett B. White Jr. from Florida, who preceded her in death.
Catherine was a contract officer for the David W. Taylor Naval Ship and Research Center. Her greatest love was her family, and she devoted her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren who adored her.
She is survived by her three children and seven grandchildren: Christopher White (wife Heather) of Mooresville, NC, and sons Christopher, Daniel, and Nicholas; Karen Rhodes (husband Dusty) of Woodbine, MD, and daughters Kelly and Kirby and son Wesley; and Steven White (wife Julie) of Rock Hill, SC, and daughter Catherine White.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc. of SC Memorial Processing Center, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA, 23060.
A private ceremony for family will be held at Bethany Cemetery in Charleston, SC.
