Catherine Cuttino McMaster Robinson

May 13, 1906 — February 3, 2011

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of February 3, 2011 Mrs. Catherine Cuttino McMaster Robinson, age 104, of James Island SC, widow of the late Thomas Marshall Robinson.  Family and friends are invited to attend her graveside service Sunday, February 6th,   2011 at 2:30 pm in James Island Presbyterian Churchyard with a reception to follow at the Church Fellowship Hall.  Friends may call Saturday between 4:00 and 6:00 pm at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel.


Catherine was born in Winnsboro, SC May 13, 1906 to the late Marion Mellichamp and John Hugh McMaster.  Catherine married Thomas Marshall Robinson in 1933 and had three daughters.  They moved to Charleston SC in 1941.  Catherine taught school for 37 years throughout Charleston County ending at James Island Elementary.  She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Huguenot Society, Alpha Delta Kappa and James Island Presbyterian Church. 


Catherine was pre-deceased by her husband, a sister, and two brothers.


She is survived by her three daughters, Marshall Ann Robinson and Marion Robinson Klinger of Charleston SC and Catherine Robinson Spitz of Atlanta Ga. She had six grandchildren: Harry Ray Spitz III, Atlanta, Ga, Catherine Spitz Amein, Orlando FL; Marian Mellichamp Klinger, Charleston SC, Catherine Klinger-Ellis, Houston TX, Caroline Klinger Starnes and Patricia Klinger Burke of Charlotte NC; eight great-grand-children, 15 nieces and nephews.
