Catherine Helen Jones Nelson

Catherine "Cathy" Helen Jones Nelson, 60, of Johns Island, South Carolina, wife of Grant Myron Nelson entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 18, 2022. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 24, 2022 in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3871 Betsy Kerrison Parkway at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Friday in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc. Downtown Chapel from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Cathy was born December 27, 1961 in Utica, New York, daughter of the late Stewart Jones and Ann Marie Mancuso Jones. Cathy graduated from Bishop Grimes High School in East Syracuse NY.  She loved spending time with her family/ friends, her dogs, her pool and boating on the ocean.  Cathy’s holiday spirit was unmatched - she left no space undecorated and her home was a place of comfort for all who knew her. 

She is survived by her husband Grant; two daughters: Chelsea Anne-Marie Nelson of New York, NY and Kacie Leigh Nelson of Ladson, SC; four siblings: David Stewart Jones (Valerie) of Wake Forest, NC, Karen Marie Pereto (Scott) of Oriskany, NY, Patricia Marie Bartell (Bernard) of Wake Forest, NC and Steven Mark Jones of Wake Forest, NC; and several special nieces and nephews.
