Catherine S. McCarter

Catherine Stewart "Kate" McCarter, 90, of North Charleston, SC, died Thursday, July 6, 2017. Her memorial service will be held Monday, July 10, 2017 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Kate was born December 15, 1926 in North Charleston, SC, one of six children of the late John W. Stewart and the late Julia Agnes Eaton Stewart. She was a lifelong member of Charleston Heights Baptist and a member of Northwood Baptist.

She is survived by daughter, Ruth Ellen Reeder (Frank) of North Charleston, SC; son, R. Stewart McCarter (Janice) of Staunton, VA; six grandchildren, Justin Reeder (April) and their children Jackson and Caleb of Summerville, SC, Lauren Ragland (Bryan) and their children Lucas and Eleanora "on the way" of Summerville, SC, and Alison Reeder Thomas (Owain) of Cardiff, Wales, Savannah Arrington (Stephen) and their children Annabelle and Bear of Staunton, VA, Kameron Masters (Dexter) and their children Kian and Leila of Powdersville, SC, Ian McCarter (Abigail) of Lynchburg, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph McCarter; siblings: Joe Stewart, Ed Stewart, Lawrence Stewart, Bessie Hughes and Tom Stewart.
