Entered into eternal rest on Wednesday morning, July 11, 2012, Catherine Carradus Dixon of Charleston, SC and wife of Ralph Arthur Dixon. The family and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph A. Dixon are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1695 Wallenberg Boulevard, Charleston, Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy., Charleston.
Born September 12, 1925 in Manhattan, New York, Catherine was a daughter of the late William and Catherine Tracey Carradus. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a retired Executive Secretary with Civil Service. Catherine was a loving caregiver and will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Ralph Dixon of Charleston; son David A. Dixon and wife Nancy of Charleston; daughter Joan Strickland of Westerly, RI; daughter-in-law Kitty Dixon of Charleston; sister Rose Carradus of Charleston; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ralph W. Dixon and James E. Dixon.
