Carroll Lane “Buddy” Phillippe, Sr., 84, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 12, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the devoted husband of Lynn Wessen Phillippe. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Buddy was born on September 3, 1941, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, to the late Jesse Ray Phillippe and Susie Edna Crabtree Phillippe. He proudly served in the Army National Guard and later worked with the Spotsylvania County Utilities Department. He was also a lifetime member of the Spotsylvania County Volunteer Fire Department, Company 3, where he faithfully served his community.

Buddy had a deep appreciation for history, especially the Civil War, and found joy in model trains, warm days at the beach, hockey, gardening, and cooking for those he loved. He valued simple pleasures and time spent with family and friends.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lynn; his daughter, Kimberly Phillippe Klock; his daughter-in law, Tammy Hockman; his grandchildren, Koy Klock and Kaitlyn Klock; his sisters, Faye Davis and Anita Newchok; his nephews, Robert, Jason, and Andrew; brother-in-law, Doug Wessen and his wife Jamie; numerous cousins; and his beloved dog, Bynx.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Phillippe, and his son, Carroll “Lane” Phillippe, Jr.
