Carroll Lennon Davis, 77, of Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina, husband of Laura Cline Davis slipped Aweigh into eternal rest July 9, 2023.  Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday July 13, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A private burial will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery, Marion, SC.

Carroll was born November 6, 1945 in Marion, South Carolina, son of the late Henry Jesse Davis and Norma Jordan Davis.  He graduated from Methodist University and received a Master's in Administration from The Citadel. Carroll retired as an administrator of Wando High School after 32 years of service.  He was also a member of the Army Reserves and retired after serving 22 years. Carroll was a Commodore of the Charleston Yacht Club and a member of the Sea Island Yacht Club. He loved spending time on his trawler, Slip Aweigh and taking long walks with his labs. 

Carroll  is survived by his wife of 34 years, Laura; two sisters: Ellen Davis of Marion, SC and Anne Glass of Clarksville, TN; brother, Derrick Davis (Ann) of Murrells Inlet, SC; his mother-in-law, Betsy Cline of Charleston, SC; brother-in-law, Dick Cline (Terri) of Cummings, GA; and many nieces and nephews with a special appreciation for niece Patricia Davis and nephew Walt Davis. 

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Marion, Henry J. Davis Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 155, Marion, SC 29571.
