Carolyn Joan Vliet, 83, of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, widow of the late Theodore W. Vliet, Sr. died Friday, November 30, 2018. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 6, 2018 in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends in the J. HENRY STUHR INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service.

Carolyn was born August 20, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland, daughter of the late George Volkman and Caroline Schroeder Volkman. She was a retired registered nurse and enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her son, Charles Edward Vliet of Isle of Palms, SC; her daughter-in-law, Christi Vliet of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three grandsons, Matthew Vliet of North Charleston, SC, David Vliet (Ashley) of North Charleston, SC and Daniel Vliet of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and her brother, George Volkman (Judy) of Baltimore, MD. She was preceded in death by her son, Theodore W. Vliet, Jr.
