Carolyn "Mazie" Rodgers Chambers, 80, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Ernest William Chambers, Jr. entered into eternal rest Thursday, January 14, 2021. Her funeral service will be held at the graveside, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road at 2:00 PM. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.
Carolyn was born March 7, 1940 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Nathaniel Henry Rodgers Sr. and Caroline Kulinski Rodgers. She graduated from Rivers High School and Palmer Business College. Carolyn was selected as a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and enjoyed serving on many community projects in Camden, SC. During her career, Carolyn worked as a medical secretary and transcriptionist for the Pathology and Radiology Departments at MUSC for 23 years.
Carolyn adored and loved her life with husband Bill. Together, they shared a life of travel, cruises, and gardening. They renewed their wedding vows after 25 years in a lovely Hawaiian ceremony with family in Maui. Her other loves included her Blue Shih Tzu, Bella. She was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church. Carolyn also spent time with her passion for decorating and creating beautiful works as a colorist. She had many close friendships and a love for her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyne Hannon (David); stepson, Ernest Chambers (Susan); her brother, William T. Rodgers (Judy); ; grandson, Mark P. Hill Jr. (Caroline); step-grandson, Tyler Chambers; great-grandson, Logan Hill. She also has many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, John Rodgers and her stepsons; Chris Chambers and Tracy Chambers.
