Carolyn Hutto Hood, 81, of Hanahan, SC, widow of Eugene S. Hood, died at her home Thursday, October 16, 2014. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2014, in Rhett Avenue Christian Church, 5103 North Rhett Avenue, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Carolyn was born August 24, 1933 in Charleston, SC, daughter of the late Raleigh H. Hutto and the late Blanche Holseberg Hutto. She was a graduate of North Charleston High School, a retired secretary with Port City Real Estate and Insurance and in later years worked for Hanahan News. She was a member of Rhett Avenue Christian Church. Carolyn was a loving mother and "Meme".

She is survived by three sons: Gene G. Hood (Brenda) of Beaufort, SC, Harry R. Hood (Marty) of Givhans, SC and Michael K. Hinson (Sheila); three daughters: Tammy H. Walters (Jeff), Terri H. Keller (Randy) and Toni H. Moore (David), all of Hanahan, SC; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Clara H. Zolnierowicz of Hanahan, SC; and many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Jacquelyn H. Zomer.
