Caroline Irvine

Caroline Irvine, 78, of Awendaw, South Carolina, wife of Gary Alan Irvine, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 22, 2023. Her memorial service will be held Saturday, March 4 in the Ocean Grove United Methodist Church, 6517 Highway 17 N at 11:00 AM. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Caroline was born September 15, 1944, in Plainfield, New Jersey, daughter of the late Henry Andrew Coleman and the late Alice Brue.  A Moultrie High School graduate, she attended both The Citadel and Trident Technical Institute, and became an agent and co-owner of Foster Insurance. She will be remembered for the active role she served as a member of Ocean Grove United Methodist Church, and for the way she loved her family.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gary; brother, Henry A. "Skipper" Coleman, Jr. (Cheri) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sister-in-law, Yvonne Coleman of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren, Ashlen Thrasher of Georgetown, SC, Megan Thrasher of Columbia, SC, and Kristan Thrasher of Camden, SC; great grandchild, Opal Gattis of Camden, SC; and lifelong friend, Mary Jo Whitton of Awendaw, SC. She was preceded in death by her sons, Gary A. Irvine, Jr. and Lt. Col. Robert H. Thrasher, Jr. (US Army), and her brother, Robert Coleman.
