Carolina Virginia Hughes

Carolina Virginia Hughes, 94, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of David Norton Hughes, Jr. entered into eternal rest Friday, October 21, 2022. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2022 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Live Oak Memorial. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

Carolina was born January 20, 1928 in Alberta, Virginia, daughter of the late Jesse B. Aycock and Virginia Bell Abernathy Aycock. She was a long time and formerly active member of Pinecrest Baptist Church. Carolina retired after many years in convenience store management as a dedicated employee. She was passionate in all that she did and found great joy spending endless hours working in her yard and cultivating her flowers. Her home was beautiful inside and she took great pride in the details. Carolina was a quiet person but most of all loved her family and her late husband. She adored her grandchildren, especially so when they were babies. They always brought a smile to her face.

She is survived by sons, Rickey Hughes (Keri) and Ronald Gene Hughes (April); grandchildren, Jordan Hughes and Savanah Hughes. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one son, Kenneth David Hughes and two siblings.
