Carole Marlene Sanderson of Lake Wylie, SC, 91, widow of Lt. Dan C. Sanderson, U.S. Navy (Ret.) entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 13, 2024. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Northwoods Chapel.
Originally from Prescott, Arkansas, Carole was the daughter of the late Odie Freeman Cagle and Ora Ola Moore Cagle both of Prescott, AR. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and devoted wife of 43 years to her late husband, Dan of Wallace, NC. She lived the majority of her 91 years in the naval city of Charleston, SC. Carole was very involved with her local church as well as an active member of the North Charleston Exchange Club.
She is survived by her three children: Dan Sanderson, Jr. of Clover, SC, Ruth Sanderson Neese of Winston Salem, NC and Galen Sanderson, also of Clover, SC; her nephew, Marc Rosenow; five grandchildren: Dana Kirgan, Ryan Sanderson, Kristen Sanderson, Caitlin Hawkins and Seth Sanderson; and five great-grandchildren: Tryce, Briston, Jaxon, Jasyn and Aubrey. She was predeceased by her siblings, Judith and Benjamin.
Carole will be greatly missed by her friends and family but will leave a lasting legacy centered around her Savior Jesus Christ. It was Christ that completely guided her life in everything that she did.
In lieu of flowers, she would request that donations be made to the Samaritans Purse Organization, 7100 Forest Point Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28217.
