Carol Ann Costas

Carol A. Costas, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Victor Jose Costas, entered into eternal rest Monday, July 1, 2024. Her funeral service will be held at a later date in Puerto Rico. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Carol was born July 25, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late Charles Ferraro and Ida Sorgi. She was a founding member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW-Puerto Rico Chapter).

Carol devoted her life to rescuing animals in Puerto Rico.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Gianna Maria Costas-Melnik (Stephen Michael) of Charleston, SC; son, Juan Carlos Costas of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico; granddaughter, Andrea Catalina Melnik of Charleston, SC; brother, Gary Paul Ferraro (Lorne Lassiter) of Charlotte, NC; and loved nieces and nephews.
