Carol Ann Taylor St. Marie, 89, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at The Village at Summerville on Saturday, March 28, 2026. Her Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek at 2:00pm. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum, 7103 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:30pm with Rosary being held at 1:15pm in J. Henry Stuhr. Inc., Northwoods Chapel.
Carol was born in Fall River, Massachusetts, daughter of the late William F. Taylor and the late Mildred Jones Taylor. Carol was a graduate of Sacred Heart School (1952), B.M.C. Durfee High School (1956) and from Our Lady of Fatima Nursing School as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1957. Carol worked at MUSC, Trident Hospital and the Coastal Center. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of Divine Redeemer Church (1972-1987) and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (1987-2022) before entering The Village at Summerville. She was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Catholic Daughters Society. Carol enjoyed being a member of the South Berkeley Seniors and the Goldeneer's Club. In her early days, Carol was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed creating works of art with ceramics such as cats, ladybugs, frogs playing poker, and bird baths, etc. She loved bowling and playing on the Toys R Us bowling league and participated in many cosmic bowing nights with her son Gene. Carol loved all of her cats and bird watching. Carol was well known for her love and trademark "Smiley Face".
Carol is survived by her five children; Sue St. Marie Likes (Bill), Michele St. Marie Sullivan (John), Diane St. Marie Rice (Kirk), Gene St. Marie, Jr. (Karen) and Karen St. Marie (Jamie), 10 grandchildren: Jenna, Beaux, Shawn, Jaimie, James, Erick, Brandon, Stephanie, Lee and Stephen, and 20 great grandchildren.
The family will be forever grateful to the awesome staff of the Village at Summerville and all of the angels at Agape Hospice.
