SSgt Carlos Hodge, USAF Ret. 63, of North Charleston died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 a local hospital.

Born February 16, 1948 in Maysville, Kentucky, he was raised in Ohio. His parents were Joe Cushard and Frances Alcorn Cushard.  Carlos chose a military career after high school and served 21 years in the USAF as a medic; He began a second career as a people greeter at the Wal-mart on Rivers Ave. in North Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Nimfa Hodge; son Christopher Hodge; daughter, Gina; and the Bustamante family.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 16, 2011, in J. HENRYS STUHR, INC, NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a chapel service beginning at 8:00 p.m.  Military honors will be rendered.  The family will greet friends after the service. Burial will be private.
