Carl Coggins Roberts, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, widower of Patricia Ann Roberts entered into eternal rest Thursday, August 6, 2015. A Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 8, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 p.m. interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road. The family will receive friends Saturday in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Carl was born June 18, 1929 in Spartanburg, SC. He was one of eight children of Roscoe and Ida Roberts of Spartanburg, SC. Mr. Roberts worked on transmissions for over 50 years of his life, a service and trade in which he passed on to his son, Eddie Roberts owner of Carl's Transmission of North Charleston. Mr. Roberts serviced in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. Of all his many accomplishments in life, he was most proud of his family and was a devoted father and grandfather and great-grandfather and a special friend to so many people . He always had a great sense of humor and a joke to make you laugh.He is predeceased by his devoted wife of 50 years Patricia Ann Roberts, the mother of his three children.
He is survived by one son, Eddie Roberts and his wife Cathy of West Ashley and two daughter's Ann Jefferies of Mt. Pleasant, and Kay Ceroply and her husband Norman of James Island, SC; two granddaughters, Nicole Floyd of Summerville, and Jennifer Jefferies Brown and her husband Matthew of Ladson, SC; three great-grandchildren, Celeste and Allen Floyd of Summerville and Christopher Brown of Ladson; one brother, Joe Roberts and his wife Dot of Spartanburg, SC.
