Carl Edward "Bud" Ballard

Carl Edward "Bud" Ballard, 80, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Esther Goude Ballard, entered into eternal rest Friday, June 10, 2016. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, June 12, 2016, in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on Sunday from 1:00 PM until time of the service.

Carl was born August 5, 1935 in Evansville, Indiana, son of the late Carl Herbert Ballard and Clara Schissler Ballard. He was a graduate of Indiana State University and a Navy Veteran. He worked in civil service, retiring from the Naval Engineering Command Accounting. He was also a member of the Goldwing Riders Association, and a former member of Toastmasters. Carl was a member of East Cooper Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher.

Bud is survived by his wife of 53 years; his daughter, Susan Elaine Meadows and her husband Don of Hanahan, SC; his brother, David Ballard of Denver, CO; his daughter-in-law, Amanda Ballard Peter of Fairfax Station, VA; and three grandsons, Donald Meadows III, Andrew Meadows, and Mason Ballard. Carl was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Ballard.
