Carey Davis, Jr., aged 84, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of the late Patricia Elizabeth Haltiwanger Davis, entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 16, 2024. A graveside service with military honors will take place on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, located at 1308 Mathis Ferry Road, beginning at 10:00 am. Arrangements are being handled by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel.
Born on March 14, 1940, in Charleston, South Carolina, Carey was the son of Carey Davis and Christine Elizabeth Rhode Davis. His faith as a Baptist was a significant part of his life. As a skilled mechanic, he owned and operated an automotive repair shop and specialized in overhauling boats, showcasing his dedication to his craft. Carey's vibrant personality made him the life of any gathering, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. A passion for fishing and spending time on the water with friends enriched his life, making unforgettable memories in nature.
He is survived by his daughters, Pamala Hale (Anthony) of Prattville, AL, and Michele Gardener (Jimmy) of Charleston, SC. Additionally, he leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, David, Jenna, Michael, and Ryo, and two great-grandsons, Walter and Henry Hale. Carey is also remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Karon Anita Davis, as well as his two brothers, Ralph Davis and William Davis.
Carey will be deeply missed by his family and friends who will carry his spirit in their hearts and memories.
