Capt. John Michael DePaul, Jr. (USN, Ret.), 66, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Edna Klatt DePaul entered into eternal rest Thursday, December 3, 2020. His celebration of life service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 in the Christ Church Mount Pleasant, 2304 Highway 17 North at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.
John was born June 14, 1954 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, son of the late John Michael DePaul and the late Vivian Jean Rogan DePaul. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh undergraduate and graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine. He served in the United States Navy for 27 years and retired as a Captain. He was through the years, a member of the ADA, Charleston Dental Society, Naval Sailing Association, Christ Church vestry and Junior Warden, the Harley Owners Group, the Lowcountry Miata club and many more. His favorite pastimes were: Sailing, boating, motorcycles, hunting and lastly cattle ranching.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dr. Edna K. DePaul of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two daughters, Lauren Snipes (Jon) of Greenville, SC and Adrienne DePaul of Vernon, CT and one grandson, Benji Snipes.
