Capt. David John Funsch, M.D. (USN, Ret.)

Capt. David John Funsch, M.D. (USN, Ret.), 60, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Rosemary Talapa Funsch died Monday, December 7, 2015. All services will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

David was born February 11, 1955 in Connecticut, son of William Funsch and Lois Elderidge Funsch. He graduated from Darmouth College and Hershey Medical Center, Penn State with a medical degree. David served as a medical doctor in the United States Navy in Bahrain, Washington, DC and GTMO. After retiring from the United States Navy he became the President of the Behavioral Association for West Ashley and Summerville. David was a Christian, loved his family and sports

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Talapa Funsch of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two sons, Wesley David Funsch of North Charleston, SC and Joe Kassim, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Allison Funsch of Mt. Pleasant, SC; parents, William and Lois Funsch of Philadelphia, PA and sister, Peggy Kerr of Philadelphia, PA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Funsch of Massachusetts.
