Arthur Doron Clark, 73, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of the late Merle Arnold Clark died Monday, January 19, 2015. The relatives and friends of Arthur Clark are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Sunday, January 25, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 2:00 pm until time of the service. The inurnment will be held at the United States Naval Academy at a later date with full military honors.
Arthur was born April 20, 1941 in Yonkers, New York, son of the late William G.E. Clark and the late Marietta Carley Doron Clark. He graduated in 1963 from the United States Naval Academy and earned his master's degree from Navy Graduate School in 1971. In 1986 he served as production officer here at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and retired in 1992 as Commanding Officer of the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. He was passionate about his time with the US Sail & Power Squadron.
He is survived by two sons, Gregory Clark and his wife, Carla, and Jeffrey Clark and his wife, Lisa, grandson, Matthew Clark and granddaughter, Julia Clark all of Mount Pleasant, SC; brother, William Morrow Clark and his wife, Rita Joan Clark, of Yardley, PA.
